Chandigarh Education Department 2019 recruitment exam for clerk, Lower Division Clerk (LDC) and Steno-typist details are given below as per which the selection of candidate will be done in exam.

Chandigarh Education Department LDC Exam Pattern 2019

  • Exam Type: Objective Type
  • Total Marks: 200 (100 marks for each paper)
  • Total Time: 2 Hours
  • Total Papers: 2
  • Subjects Included: Paper 1 will include English (40), GK (40), Computer Knowledge (20) and Paper 2 will include Mathematics + Reasoning (70), Statistics (30)
  • Followed by exam, there will be Typing & Stenography test for Clerk & Steno Typist respectively.

NOTE: Negative marking will be done in exam- 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer

Chandigarh Education Department LDC Syllabus 2019

For Paper 1-

English: From grammar section- noun, verbs, adjectives, preposition, speech, narration, adverbs, subject verb agreement, idioms, proverbs, tenses. From writing section- comprehension passages, letter writing, precis writing etc. Some questions will be asked from vocabulary like word meanings, antonyms, synonyms in the exam.

GK: The questions in the exam will be based on current affairs of India and international level, important dates of events occurring, social, economic, political issues of India, railways, sports, books, authors, capital, currency, scripts, culture, awards etc.

Computer Knowledge: The basics of computer hardware and software will be asked in exam, MS Office being important part of computer will be main source of questions. More questions will be asked from internet usage, emails writing etc.

For Paper-II-

Mathematics & Quantitative Aptitude: The questions will be asked from Number system, Fractions, Simplifications, Fractions, averages, Time & Work, Time & distance, Problem on ages, simple & compound interest, probability, problem on trains, statistics, trigonometry, graphs & charts

Reasoning: Missing Patterns, Similarities and differences, Odd man series, spatial visualization & orientation, decision making, observation, relationship concepts, coding & decoding, statement conclusion, round table problems etc.

Typing Test for Clerk & LDC: It will be held on computer in which the candidate has to type at the speed of 35 words per minute.

Stenography Test for Steno-Typist: Speed of 80 words per minute
