Ministry of Home Affairs is the acting authority to conduct Intelligence Bureau IB Group ‘B’ Personal Assistant examination. Candidates who have filled up their application form or willing to give this exam in next coming years must need a syllabus and exam pattern. MHA IB ACIO Grade B Exam Pattern will be as follows:

Paper I (Objective)- General Studies/ Awareness, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, English of 100 marks

Paper II (Descriptive)- English/ Hindi Essay writing,comprehension,vocabulary of 50 marks

Examination Time will be 2 Hours

Followed by written exam, is an interview of 100 marks.

MHA IB ACIO Grade II Exam Syllabus

English Comprehension: Question will be first based on English comprehension in which you have to answer questions referring the paragraph. Antonyms, synonyms, word meaning, closest related meaning, grammar, one word substitution, Jumble Sentences ,idioms & phrases, Passage etc.

Reasoning:- Questions will be asked from Relations, Graphs & symbols, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, pattern completion, relationship concepts, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, verbal & nonverbal reasoning, visual memory, discrimination, observation, encode & decode, arithmetic reasoning, verbal and figure.

General Knowledge: Question will be asked from Indian History, Indian Polity, Current Events, Geography, Economy etc. Focus on the current events going on PM new schemes, Sports Awards, Nobel Prize. We advise to remember events based on dates in world history some organizational full forms.

Quantitative Aptitude: Simplification, Problem On Ages , Bar Graph, Average, Percentage, Time & Work, Area, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Time & Speed, Investment, HCF, LCM, Pictorial Graph, Pie Chart. Practice every day and first do questions which you are confident that you can solve every question of this kind.

Descriptive Exam: Questions will be from English: Story writing or Essay writing 500 to 800 words, Précis writing, Comprehension and Business/Office Correspondence. Comprehension will be given based on that questions will be asked in end.

    • Sir Check The Syllabus and Make a list of topics you know and don’t know. Firstly try to deal with the topics you know and practice them as much as can so that at least in that section you will score good and subjects like Maths, English and GK you have to study daily as there are lot of topics and they cannot be prepared in one day. Sir Just be Motivated and Focus on this exam and we hope you will surely clear and most important thing be Positive.

  3. I can type fast but do not have steno training ! Am i eligible ? And is Hindi necessary or we can choose between hindi and english? Please reply

  4. 1) Tier-I exam is OMR based or online?
    2) Do we have to appear both Tier I and II exam on the same day?

    I am getting confused with these 2 questions.

Pleaese do suggest a guide book or any refernce book which may be beneficial for this exam..also, I am a working professional, So don’t have luxury to study for hours.Also, its perhaps my ladt attempt for it, in that case please refer me some good websites or any material directly relevant to this exam.
