OICL Administrative Officer (AO) Generalist/Specialist Syllabus & Scheme

Oriental Insurance Company Limited (OICL) recruitment of Administrative officer (Scale- I) 2015 is being done through an online exam for which every candidate has to prepare well. There are 2 posts- GENERALIST & SPECIALIST for which the exam is being conducted. The applicants need to refer to the OICL AO Syllabus & Exam Pattern in great details so as to prepare well for the exam.

Oriental Insurance Generalist/Specialist Officer Syllabus Exam Pattern:

OICL AO Exam Pattern (Generalist): The questions which will be asked in the exam paper constitute the following subjects-

  1. Reasoning
  2. English Language
  3. General Awareness
  4. Quantitative Aptitude
  5. English Language:
  • Essay (15 marks)
  • Précis (10 marks)
  • Comprehension (15 marks)

Here, each section of exam is of 40 marks.

Exam Pattern (Specialist): The questions which will be asked in the exam paper constitute the following subjects-

  1. Reasoning (30 marks)
  2. English Language (30 marks)
  3. General Awareness (30 marks)
  4. Quantitative Aptitude (30 marks)
  5. English Language:
  • Essay (15 marks)
  • Précis (10 marks)
  • Comprehension (15 marks)

Here, Technical & Professional knowledge test will be conducted of 40 marks.

Total Time awarded for exam: 2 Hours (Objective) & 45 minutes (Descriptive which comprises English section)

NOTE: 0.25 marks are deducted for every wrong answer

Quantitative Aptitude: In this section all the questions are asked from simplification, averages, number system, Time & Work, Area & Volume, profit & Loss, Simple & Compound Interest, Investment, HCF & LCM, Problem On Ages, Percentages, Graphs & Charts, Time & Speed

General Awareness: In this section, current affairs of national & international events is the main focus. More questions on  Banking, General Science, important dates, Technology, Sports & Culture are asked in exam. Political, social, economic, geographical questions are asked in the exam.

Reasoning: This section will include the questions based on both verbal & non- verbal type. The questions are based on general intelligence. Venn Diagrams, Arithmetic Series, Coding & de-coding, Comprehension Reasoning, Statement & Conclusions, syllogistic reasoning, Seating Arrangements, pattern matching, missing patterns, odd man series are type of questions asked in exam.

Computer Awareness: This is the important part of every post so every individual need to know basics of computers. Computer Organization, MS Office (MS word, MS Excel, MS power point), Internet, LAN, WAN, Generations, Input & Output Device questions are asked in the exam.

English Language: In this section, the questions are asked from Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms), comprehension passages, grammar (nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs), idioms & proverbs, phrasal verbs, sentence completion

In Descriptive Test, it is important to increase the vocabulary and knowledge. So, practice the essay writing, précis writing for the better performance in exam.

Note: In OICL AO Specialist Officer Syllabus, basic questions on accounts, marketing, legal, actuaries are also included.
