Syllabus For SSC MTS (Non- Technical) 2016 Exam Pattern

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi- Tasking Staff (Non-Technical) MTS recruitment exam is being conducted so as to select the best candidates for the post. SSC MTS Exam pattern & Syllabus is being detailed below as per which the candidates can prepare themselves for the exam. There are several topics which have to be studied for exam from best sources of study. To beat competition level, it is important to prepare well for exam.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern: The details of the exam are-

Total Papers: 2

Exam Type: Objective & Conventional

Subjects Included With Marks: Paper 1 (Objective): Reasoning (25), Quantitative Aptitude(25), General English (50), General Awareness (50)

For Paper 2 (Conventional): English (or any language in 8th schedule of constitution) Essay Writing/ Letter writing (50)

Total Time: For Paper 1, 2 hours are given to each candidate and 40 minutes extra are given to visually handicapped candidates.

For Paper 2, 30 minutes are given

SSC MTS Exam Syllabus: The details of all the topics included in exam are-


English: Grammar topics- Verbs, Nouns, Adjectives, Proverbs, idioms, Speech, Narration. Vocabulary section- Word Meanings, Antonyms, Synonyms. Also, comprehension passages may be asked in exam

General Awareness: It  includes the questions from different sections like economic, political, social issues of society, all new things which are happening, new developments and transformations, scientific aspects, Sports, History, Culture, Geography, books, authors etc. The questions are asked in general manner.

Quantitative Aptitude: Number Systems, LCM & HCF, Decimals, Fractions, Averages, Percentages, Ratio & Proportion, Simple & Compound Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Time & Distance, Time & Work, Probability, Permutation & Combination, Problems on trains, Tables & Graphs

Reasoning: Missing patterns, Similarities & differences, odd man series, problem solving, analysis, visual memory, blood relationships, statements & conclusions, figure classification, decision making, tables & figures, coding & decoding etc.
