UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam Pattern:
Total Marks: 400 marks (200 marks each)
Total Time: 2 Hours
Paper-I will be General Studies –I and Paper-II will be General Studies –II
NOTE: There is negative marking in exam- 0.33 marks will be deducted for each wrong question.
The candidates who all clear this Preliminary exam will be eligible for Mains exam.
UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam Syllabus: For Paper-I the topics included are-
Current events of India & World, History of India, Geography, Indian Political system, Economic, Social Development issues in India, Environmental issues related on society, General Science related questions. The basic purpose of Paper 1 will be the basic questions from all fields.
The Paper-II will contain the topics like- Comprehension passages and the questions based on them beneath, test on basic communicational skills, Logical reasoning, questions related to problem solving, verbal & non- verbal reasoning, numerical questions/ quantitative aptitude of class 10 level, Basic understanding of English language. The questions will be simple and will be based on the normal understanding of candidate.
