The exam is being conducted for Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering. The candidates of these branches who all apply for the exam need to prepare well. UPSC ESE Exam pattern: There are 5 papers in total conducted for the selection of the candidates. The details of each are given below. Both objective & conventional type papers are being seen.
Paper 1 (Objective type): General Ability Test (General English & General Studies)
(Total Marks: 200, Total Time: 2 Hours)
Paper 2, 3 (Objective Type): Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering
(Total marks: 200, Total Time: 2 Hours)
Paper 4, 5 (Conventional Type): Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering
(Total marks: 200, Total Time: 3 Hours)
After the exam, a personality test is conducted for those who clear the written paper. This test is of 200 marks.
UPSC Engineering Services Exam Syllabus: It is important to study for the UPSC Exam because the competition level is really high for them. There are many lac candidates who apply for the exam every year. So, study well for the domain based knowledge because it is major source to score in the exam.
Rest is General Ability Test which is quite scoring and will include the questions such as-
English: The questions will be asked to test the candidates’ ability to comprehend English language. Vocabulary, antonyms, synonyms, passage writing, paragraph writing, essay writing will be asked in exam.
General Studies: The questions will be asked from current affairs of India & World, scientific aspects, History, Geography, Political, economic issues of India. Some general questions will also be asked in the exam.
