The syllabus & exam pattern for exam is being described below as per which the candidates need to prepare for the exam. UPSSSC Junior Engineer & Other Posts syllabus has to be studied in detail so as to prepare well for the exam.
UPSSSC Exam Pattern:
- Exam Type: MCQs
- Total Marks: 750 marks + 250 interview
- Total Papers: 2
- Total Subjects: For PAPER- 1

| General Intelligence Test/ Computer Knowledge | 100 Ques of 3 marks each | 2:30 Hours |
For PAPER 2- Subjects of Engineering in which there are 125 questions (375 marks). 02:00 hours are given for this exam.
Followed by exam, is a interview of 250 marks.
Exam Syllabus: For Paper 1-
General Hindi & English: The questions will be asked from language section- Verb, Noun, adjective, proverbs, idioms, phrasal verbs, speech, narration etc. Also from vocabulary section, the questions are asked. Spot the Error, Fill in the Blanks, mis-spelt words, One Word Substitution, comprehension passages are asked in exam.
General Intelligence Test: The questions will be asked from analogies, similarities & differences, missing pattern, odd man series, relationship concepts, pattern matching, figure classification, table problems etc. The General Knowledge section includes- questions from current events, important dates, history, geography, social, economic issues of country.
General Knowledge: Current events, important dates & events, history, political, geography issues of India and related to state.
Computer Knowledge: Basics are asked from hardware & software- Peripheral Device, memory, Internet, Input & output devices, Operating System, MS Office. Network devices like modem are part of questions in exam.
For Paper 2-
The engineering related questions are asked from engineering domain- Civil, Mechanical & Electrical. The basics of all subjects has to be prepared in such a manner because competitive examinations include the questions from very basics. Complete syllabus can be downloaded and prepared for the exam.
