West Bengal Syllabus For Police Constable Exam Pattern 2015

West Bengal Police Constable (Males) syllabus & exam pattern is being defined below as per which the preparations for exam can be done. The following selection criteria is being covered for the selection  of Police constables-

  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT)- All categories except Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis, ST: 167 cms (height) & 78 cms + 5 cm (Chest) and Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis, ST: 160 cms (height), 76 cms + 5 cms (Chest)
  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Long Distance Run of 1600 metres in which qualifying time is 6:30 minutes
  • Written Examination
  • Interview
  • Verification of Character Antecedents
  • Medical Examination

These will be followed in sequence for the selection.

WB police Constable Exam Pattern: For Physical Measurement Test-

In Written Exam, MCQs will be asked in exam. There will be 60 questions in exam each of 1.5 marks. The total time duration of exam is 60 minutes. Topics included in exam-

  • Elementary Mathematics: 16 questions
  • English: 16 questions
  • Reasoning: 8 questions
  • General Awareness- 20 questions

Syllabus for West Bengal Police Constable Exam: The topics which will be included

English: The questions will be asked from grammar section (verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, proverbs, idioms, fill in the blanks, preposition, phrases), vocabulary section (antonyms & synonyms) and sentence comprehension

General Awareness: The questions will be asked from all topics such as- History, Geography, Socio economic, current events, administration, political science, economical issues

Reasoning: The questions will be asked from verbal & non- verbal reasoning- analogies, similarities & differences, problem solving, venn diagrams, statements & conclusions, blood relations etc.

Maths: Number system, LCM & HCF, Averages, Ratios & Proportions, Percentages, binomial theorem, time & distance, time & work, simple & compound interest, profit & loss, mensuration, tables & graphs, problem on trains
