Time & Distance Aptitude Questions
Speed, time and distance topics are very important thing to know for your competitive exams. A competitive exam contains more questions and marks from this topic. This type of problem given in quantitative aptitude which is very essential paper in the competitive exams
Important facts and formulae
Speed = Distance/ Time
To find the speed we can divide the distance by time. The unit of speed is written in fractions of km/ hr
Time = Distance/ Speed
To find the time we can divide distance by speed. If in the question is time unit given in minute then convert it into hours.
Distance = Speed * Time
We use this formula to find the distance of any running train, car etc. If speed of train is given with time and using this multiplying this two we can find the distance
X km/hr = x * 5/18 milli seconds per hour
X m / sec = x * 18/5 km /hr
If the ratio of the speed of A and B is a : b, then the ratio of the time taken by them to cover the same distance is 1/a : 1/b or a: b
Suppose a man covers a certain distance at x km per hour and an equal distance at y km per hour. Then, the average speed during the whole journey is 2xy/ x + y km per hour
