Border Security Force (BSF) recruitment of 561 posts of Constable (Tradesman) for trades- Draughtsman, Cook, Cobbler, Tailor, Painter, Water Carrier, Waiter, Mali and Khoji, Carpenter, Plumber, Washer man, Barber, Sweeper etc. The selection will be done based on Physical Standard Test (PST), Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Documentation, Trade Test, Written Test and Medical Exam.
Exam pattern: For all selection procedure of the exam, the exam scheme will include-
For PST: Physical Standard Test
- SC/ Adivasis (Nagas & Mizos): 162.5 cms in height & 76-81 cms in chest
- Men of Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Gorkhas, Dogras, Marathas and people of north- eastern states: 165 cms in height & 78-83 cms in chest
- For all rest: 167.5 cms in height & 78-83 cms in chest
Physical Efficiency Test: Race will be conducted for 5 kms which has to be completed in 24minutes.
Documentation: Some necessary documents will be verified.
Trade Test: The questions can be asked as per the selected position for the recruitment.
Written Examination: The written exam will be conducted of 100 marks for which 2 hours will be given.
Written Exam Syllabus: For Constable (Tradesman) of all trades the topics include-
Mathematics: Basics of maths is important, the topics will be like- Number Systems, Simplification, Decimals, Fractions, Time & work, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Discount, Time & Distance, Problems on trains, Simple & Compound Interest, probability, permutation etc.
General Hindi/English: Very basic questions will be asked so as to check the fluency in languages- Grammar sections are asked- nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, idioms & phrases etc. The comprehension passages and vocabulary are also major part of exam.
General Knowledge: The questions will be asked from topics such as- History, Geography, current events, important dates. The questions will be asked in respect to Himachal Pradesh also.
Reasoning Ability: The questions will be asked based on verbal & non-verbal reasoning which includes- similarities & differences, Venn diagrams, relationship concepts, problem solving, observation related questions, figure classification etc.
Medical Exam: The candidates will be medically tested to get them verified well before they are recruited.
