Maharashtra Public Service Commission State Excise Sub Inspector recruitment will be done via written exam which will have certain stages. The selection of candidates will be done in a way they are tested physically too. The MPSC SI exam dates 2017 are being declared already-
- Preliminary Exam Date: 28th May, 2017
- Mains Exam Date: 24th September, 2017
MPSC SI Selection Procedure 2017 will include 3 stages- Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam and Physical Test. A small interview session can be conducted for the candidates who are selected. Now, details of each section are given below as per which you need to do your exam preparations.
MPSC SI Preliminary Exam Pattern
||General Ability Test
MPSC SI Preliminary Exam Syllabus: In exam, the questions will be asked from general knowledge and awareness. It will include- current affairs, important dates & events, ongoing things in India & world, history, geography, political science related questions and also from sports, currency, railways, books, authors etc.
Some questions can be asked from basic aptitude and reasoning sections.
MPSC SI Mains Exam Pattern

In this exam, both paper are equally proportionate i.e. each paper is of 100 marks and 1 hour will be given for each.
MPSC SI Mains Exam Syllabus: In this section, language and general knowledge questions will be asked.
English/ Marathi: The questions will be asked from grammar section- Verb, noun, adjective, adverb, subject predicate, voice, narration, phrasal verb, idioms, proverbs etc. Also from comprehension passages the related questions will be asked to check analytical ability of candidate. More from vocabulary section- word meanings, antonyms and synonyms will be asked.
General Knowledge: This will include ongoing events in India & World and several topics which have been covered in Preliminary exam but in more detail.
MPSC SI Physical Test: 100 marks test will be conducted for candidates who all have cleared preliminary exam and mains exam. The minimum physical requirements for this post are-

The test will include some rounds differently for males & females-
- Iron Ball Throwing (7.260 Kg)- 15 marks
- Pull ups (8)- 20 marks
- Long Jump- 15 marks
- Race (800 m)- 50 marks
- Iron Ball Throwing (4 Kg)- 20 marks
- Race (400 m)- 40 marks
- Brisk Walking (3 Km)- 40 marks
